Vehicle overloading has a negative impact on road infrastructure and maintenance, drastically reducing the useful life of roads and increasing the maintenance work required for their upkeep.

In addition, traffic and road safety are also affected by overloading, altering the braking distance of the vehicle, the response of electronic safety systems or the alteration in the points of gravity and aerodynamics, posing a risk to any road user in the vicinity of that vehicle.

We present an intercontinental project carried out for the Ministry of Transport and Road Safety of Chad, a country located in central Africa with more than 33,000 kilometers of roads along the more than 1,284,000 km2 that make up the country's territory.

The solution acquired by the Ministry of Transport and Road Safety of Chad was our Gesdyn software, created specifically for the management of dynamic weighing and gauging stations, allowing the pre-selection of vehicles, overload penalties or the generation of traffic statistics, among other options.

These stations are equipped with the Datalogger B615, a new generation device designed for use in different applications directly related to road management and capable of collecting, storing and sharing data between different associated devices. The Datalogger B615 is OIML certified, which allows us to demonstrate that our equipment does not exceed +/-1.00% with respect to conventional static weighing and on moving vehicles with 2 or more axles, at speeds up to 30 km/h and a certified penalty at speeds between 2 and 10 km/h.

In this case, we supply 2 low speed weighing stations, fully automated, including hardware, software and automation accessories such as ANPR cameras, CCTV, traffic lights, weight repeaters and gauge control.

To complete the installation, the Chadian Ministry of Transport and Road Safety has several of our BPPEM axle-weighing scales, OIML R134 certified and with different measuring capacities up to 40Tn. It is an ideal model for use in low speed weigh stations or toll systems with weighing included thanks to its compact structure and its high adaptability to both static and moving checkweighing systems.

During and after the installation process, training was provided to several technicians to ensure the proper use of Gesdyn software, as well as advice for the maintenance and care of the Dataloggers and axle weighers.

At Girwim we are prepared to meet the most demanding needs of our customers, and without a doubt, providing the highest reliability in the management of traffic weight and road safety is a challenge which we are delighted to use our technology.

Low speed weighing (LSW)

Low speed weighing solution for accurate weight control on the road. This solution is OIML R134 certified with an accuracy of +/-0.50% of the vehicle mass.

Medium speed weighing (MSW)

The MSW system records vehicle information up to 50 km/h. It is an ideal solution to install on tolls or moderate speed roads such as inside municipalities.

High speed weighing (HSW)

GIRWIM high speed solutions are ideal for weight control on roads and highways to have total control of the weight supported by the road without the need to influence the flow of traffic.
