New case of success realized more than 4,000km away from our offices and factory. This is a project for the Direction Generale des Infrastructures des Transports et du Patrimoine Routier of Chad, in which 2 automated checkpoints were installed to detect overloaded vehicles, with intelligent license plate reading, traffic flow management and overheight detection systems.

These checkpoints were installed at key traffic points in the cities of Moundo and Mongo, the second and tenth largest cities in Chad, respectively. It should be noted that Chad is located on the road freight corridors to Cameroon, Libya, Nigeria, Central African Republic and Niger, and about 80% of the population in Chad works in agriculture-based industries, one of the most important sectors within the industrial fabric of Chad moves by road.

As a result of this, in order to avoid excessive wear of the roads and possible accidents, the Chadian Direction Generale des Infrastructures des Transports et du Patrimoine Routier, has relied on Giropes weighing solutions and its axle weighing systems, installing several platforms fully integrated in the floor, so that vehicles passing over them do not suffer any type of impact affecting tires, suspensions or any other part of the vehicle that could be affected.

Accompanying the axle weighing platforms are GI620 COMPACT indicators and signal repeaters R100 on which drivers, operators or security agents can visualize the weight of the axle in question at any given moment. In addition, the control stations have an ANPR camera system with license plate reading system and direct connection to our OIML-134 certified GESDYN software.

All stations integrate GESDYN software, a software specifically designed to manage the weighing of vehicles and trucks in motion. GESDYN will provide accurate traffic data and statistics, detecting and penalizing violations in the control of the weight of loads. The stations' activities can be consulted in real time through a central server in N'Djamena, which also allows the preparation and extraction of reports through various filters, in accordance with CEMAC regulations.

With the use of these weighing control posts, the government of Chad reinforces its commitment to road safety and the good use of roads, since as we have said on other occasions, overloaded vehicles, apart from generating alterations in the dynamics of the vehicle, also cause a greater impact on the asphalt deteriorating it, which translates into a reduction of the useful life of the roads as well as a higher cost of maintenance of these.

In Giropes we have multiple solutions focused on weight control in vehicles in dynamic or static, you can consult some of our axle/wheel weighing solutions by clicking here and our portable indicators by clicking here.

Low speed weighing (LSW)

Low speed weighing solution for accurate weight control on the road. This solution is OIML R134 certified with an accuracy of +/-0.50% of the vehicle mass.

Medium speed weighing (MSW)

The MSW system records vehicle information up to 50 km/h. It is an ideal solution to install on tolls or moderate speed roads such as inside municipalities.

High speed weighing (HSW)

GIRWIM high speed solutions are ideal for weight control on roads and highways to have total control of the weight supported by the road without the need to influence the flow of traffic.
